Who this is about

Michael Garegnani, a sole proprietor based in San Diego, California, trading under his own name. You can reach me at the contact form on the home page.

The short version

I collect as little as I can. I don’t sell anything to anyone, I don’t run advertising, and I don’t build profiles of the people who visit this site.

Visiting this site

I use self-hosted analytics to count visits and see which pages get read. It records the page, the referring site, and a general location and device type. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not collect anything that identifies you personally.

If you get in touch

When you email me or send a form, I receive what you send — your name, your email address, and whatever you write. I use it to reply to you, and if we end up working together, to do the work.

If you become a client

To run a project I hold ordinary business information: contact details, the business facts needed to build what you asked for, and a record of what was agreed, delivered and invoiced.

Payments are handled by Stripe. I never see or store your card details — Stripe processes them directly under its own privacy policy.

Who else sees any of it

Only the services I need to run the business:

• Stripe — payments and invoicing
• My email provider — correspondence
• My hosting provider — running this site

None of them receives your information for their own purposes. I don’t sell it, rent it, or share it for advertising.

How long I keep it

Correspondence lasts as long as it is useful, then goes. Client and payment records I keep for as long as tax and accounting rules require me to, which is several years after the work ends.

What you can ask for

Email me and ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. I’ll do it, unless it’s a record I’m legally required to keep.

Changes

If this changes, the date at the top changes with it.
